I hope that you are having a very productive and enjoyable summer. The 43th Annual Conference for the American Association for Chinese Studies will be held at the Holiday Inn in downtown Chicago on October 27-28, 2001. The big annual event for this year is orchestrated by the Program Committee, chaired by Professor Cal Clark. Thanks to Cal's excellent leadership and coordination, the preliminary program is now ready for your review. Professor William Parish is local host for conference arrangements. | The Program Committee would like to invite scholars in Chinese studies to submit papers and proposals for the annual conference to be held on October 27-28, 2001 hosted by the University of Chicago. Membership in AACS is required for participation in the Conference. Nonmembers may join the Association after their proposals have been accepted.
