NY Structural Biology Center

Formerly known as the Park Building it was used as a gymnasium (South Campus Gym). Currently it is being converted to house the New York Structural Biology Center, the nation's largest magnetic resonance research facility. The center will help scientists understand the structure and function of the molecules, which govern the basic processes of life. It was created as a consortium of leading academic medical institutions including CCNY, CUNY, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Rockefeller University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York University School of Medicine, SUNY Stony Brook, and Wadsworth Center, State of New York, Department of Health. The project will be completed in three to four years.
