This book panel will highlight the diverse languages and programs for multilingualism across NYC.The book panel will highlight the diverse languages and community programs that foster multilingualism across NYC. The editors - Zeena Zakharia (UMass Boston) and Bahar Otcu (Mercy College) and authors will provide an overview of the book and will discuss chapters on Spanish, Hindi, Haitian Creole, Bengali and Korean bilingual community programs. New York State Associate of Bilingual Education (NYSABE) language delegates will then lead breakout groups of the featured languages for discussion and action about ways to improve the programs and opportunities for students to become bilingual.
