Seneca Village: Unearthing a Forgotten Community Opening Reception
The exhibit Seneca Village: Unearthing a Forgotten Community will be up from Jan 28 through June 7th, in the atrium of Cohen Library. The exhibit tells the story of this 19th-century African-American and Irish immigrant community that was located in today's Central Park and of the ongoing project geared at bringing it back to modern memory. It includes discoveries made in archaeological excavations that took place in the summer of 2011.
