Multi-disciplinary designers present their ideas for Waterproofing New York.The Landscape Architecture Program of the City College of New York’s Spitzer School of Architecture, with support from the Municipal Art Society, American Society of Landscape Architects New York Chapter, and the Institute for Urban Design, will host the follow up presentation to the March 2, 2013 conference of municipal leaders, scientists, engineers, and designers exploring the impact of past and future storms on New York City’s infrastructural systems: Water/Waste, Power/Data, Circulation/Fuel, Parks/Recreation, and Shelter. This event will present the designer-participants approach to re-imagining the operating systems of the city in order to Waterproof New York. Speakers include: Deborah Gans, Denise Hoffman Brandt, Lydia Kallipoliti, Kate Orff, Chris Reed, Miguel Robles Duran, Hilary Sample, Catherine Seavitt Nordenson, Michael Sorkin, Gullivar Shepard, Georgeen Theodore.
