| Jackie
is the Associate Producer of the National Black Theatre, in Harlem. She
is a newcomer to the field of film. She began studying video as an undergraduate
student at City College at the Center for Worker Education (CWE) in 2000.
She produced and directed her first documentary called Imajin
in collaboration with MNN Studios and CWE. She also received a certificate
of merit from MNN studios. Jackie began her MFA studies at City College in the Fall of 2003. She was depending on applying her theatrical experience to help her make the transition from theater to film and was amazed at how drastically different the two mediums are. The structure of the MFA program allowed her to obtain the necessary skills to produce for documentary and fiction films. She recently produced A Tribute to Samuel Tuneday at The Symphony Space Theater in NYC, which recently screened at The Women of Color Film Festival this past Spring 2003. She also completed another short film The Making of Moms Mabley & Her Ladies featuring Clarice Taylor, who previously played Grandmother Huxtable on The Cosby Show. She would like to thank her professors and fellow students for all their support |
