Synopsis:
Raised within a highly structured family, but without my father, I often
wonder what happened. Could I have been only an accident of a brief encounter?
The Alcantara family - my mother’s family - includes my five aunts,
my four uncles, my thirty eight cousins, my eighteen nieces and fourteen
nephews. They are the people who have surrounded me most of my life and
I am very proud of them. My mom is a single mother of two children. I
had always felt that my family, perceived me as different. This documentary
will reunite the entire family that now has fallen apart. I am Alacantra
seeks answers to many of my questions, some of which I have known from
the start. Follow my journey of a young woman learning my past, understanding
my present and moving on with the future.
