Synopsis:
Who Gives Kisses Freely From Her Lips is a film
that brings together the fiction and documentary genres. Salomé
an Iranian-American filmmaker is interested in temporary marriage, a taboo
subject in Iranian culture. After years of being away, she travels back
to Iran to stay with her father and to make her documentary. Her father,
Jamshid, is against the idea of the film she wants to make and is not
supportive. Much to his chagrin, Reza his friend, decides to help Salomé
in the hopes of perhaps marrying her in the end. With the help of Reza
Salomé makes her documentary. She conducts real interviews with
Iranian couples that have done temporary marriage. When Salomé
wants to return back to New York, Reza declares his love for her. Jamshid
is angry and thinks that Reza wants to take advantage of Salome. Salome
rejects Reza, but decides to stay in Iran to learn more about the culture.
