STUDENT TEACHING, PRACTICUM AND SUPERVISED TEACHING APPLICATIONS FOR SPRING 2015
be aware that our Student Teaching, Practicum and Supervised Teaching
applications for the SPRING 2015 semester will be available in the Office
of Clinical Practice (OCP – NAC 6/207A) as of Monday, September 8,
2014. [Note: Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education (Graduate), Bilingual Education (Undergrad) and
Educational Theatre have a different application process. Please speak
with the OCP staff for the specifics.]
COMPLETING YOUR APPLICATION
All applicants must meet with their respective Program Advisor in order to complete the Student Teaching, Practicum and Supervised Teaching application before bringing it to the OCP. The application includes an autobiographical essay/reflective paper that must be typed, three to five pages in length, double spaced, one-sided, Times New Roman and a font of 12. You must submit your completed application to the OCP no later than November 3, 2014. Make certain that you schedule your interview with Dr. Bruce M. Billig, the Director of the Office of Clinical Practice, after submitting your completed application. Interviews with Dr. Billig will be conducted from September 8, 2014 through December 1, 2014. Please schedule your interview as soon as possible.
SCHEDULING YOUR INTERVIEW WITH THE DIRECTOR OF THE OFE
When you submit your completed application to the OCP, please schedule an interview with Dr. Billig. This interview is extremely important in order for your application to be approved by the Committee on Student Services. WE STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU SCHEDULE YOUR INTERVIEW WITH DR. BILLIG IN SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER OR NOVEMBER. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE "LAST MINUTE".
Make certain that you have satisfied all application conditions (e.g., course grades, required number of fieldwork hours, required tests, approval from your Program Advisor and interview with Dr. Billig prior to December 1, 2014. [Note: If you miss this deadline, you may need to postpone your Student Teaching/Practicum until the Fall 2015 semester.]

You are required to attend
our Student Teaching Orientation Workshop for the Spring 2015 Student Teaching/Practicum candidates in mid-late
January 2015 (date TBA) in NAC 4/220 B from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Please be available when teachers report to their schools (TBA) to meet with your cooperating teacher at your school site. The first day of Student Teaching is (TBA). Student teaching ends on (TBA).Contact the OCP (NAC 6/207A) if you have any questions (212-650-6915 or email@example.com).
