Part of the mission of the School of Education at the City College of New York is "to improve urban education". The Center for School Development, founded in 1992, is dedicated to helping the School of Education carry out that mission. The Center is committed to  improving education in New York City public schools through professional development programs for teachers and school staff as well as through educational programs for public school students. The Center is also  involved in strengthening educational programs within the School of Education by involving our faculty and students in the projects, services and activities of the Center.
