Our Upward Bound/Urban Scholars Program  has been funded by the US Department of Education since 1995 and has support for continued operation through 2004. The program serves students from surrounding high schools and the Harlem community by providing students with comprehensive academic and support services designed to motivate and prepare them to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.  Selected students participate in extensive academic and cultural enrichment classes and activities during the summer and on Saturdays during the academic year. During the week, they receive tutoring, guidance and other support services in an after-school component at the College. The program serves approximately 65 students a year and has been successful in sending almost all of its students to college.
