International Studies Program

About This Program

The interdisciplinary major allows students to develop their own program of study through the selection of an Area of Concentration. The Area of Concentration is a cluster of five courses that the student may choose from among three or more disciplines. The areas of concentrations includes: Culture & Communication, Development, International Public Policy, and International Relations.  International Studies majors are also provided with training in cross-cultural mediation which is a valuable skill to prepare students for the challenges they will encounter in their careers.

Moreover, The City College of New York counts with the presences of Diplomat-in-Residence to advice on U.S. State Department internships and entry to the U.S. Foreign Services.
