Architect Snapshot
Karen Bausman and Associates. Shortly after receiving her bachelor's degree in architecture from the Cooper Union School of Architecture in New York, N.Y., Bausman formed Bausman & Gill with her classmate, Leslie Gill. She worked for M.Pei & Partners, Architects, in New York while still in school. She is now the principal of Karen Bausman and Associates which she founded in 1995. Her work has been published and exhibited widely, including the Fellow's Exhibition (1995) at the American Academy in Rome. She was Eero Saarinen visiting professor of architecture at Yale University, and she also has taught at Columbia University, the Parsons School of Design, and at the Cooper Union School of Architecture. She is the recipient of numerous national and international awards, including the 1994 Prix de Rome from the American Academy in Rome. She is a fellow of the AAR.
