Professor Rassi is
an artist and a filmmaker. His goal, as an educator, “is not only
to teach students the established conventions of storytelling, and give
them a solid technical foundation, but also to encourage the free and
critical thinking that would enable them to take risks and discover fresh
approaches in telling their stories.” Professor Rassi has also been
busy in the editing room over the past year, editing "Festival in
the Desert – A Taureg Homecoming," a documentary on the music/culture
festival in the Sahara Desert. This piece, which premiered on Link TV
last December, features the music of Ali Farka Toure and Robert Plant.
Rassi was also Editor/Sound Designer on "Sophie Matisse – Painter,"
a profile of the New York painter who also happens to be the granddaughter
of impressionist, Henri Matisse.
