BFA Film and Video Program Director

Professor Lew is an Assistant Professor and the program Director of the undergraduate Film and Video Production specialization in the Department of Media and Communication Arts at The City College of New York. He has written and directed seven short films and his extensive work as a cinematographer includes feature films, documentaries, and commercials. Professor Lew is the recipient of a New York Foundation For The Arts Fellowship and has received grants from the New York State Council On The Arts. Since 1989, he has been the director of the nationally recognized Film and Video Production Workshop program at Third World Newsreel. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Thomas Edison Media Arts Consortium, which produces the Academy Award sanctioned Black Maria Film Festival.
