Scholarships


The Graduate MFA in Media Arts Production program offers the following scholarships to promising MFA students. These scholarships are merit based, and are distributed to MFA students in their second year of study:


THE NEW YORK IN FILM & TELEVISION FELLOWSHIP - A grant of $2000.00 toward tuition for a talented woman film/videomaker. The fellowship given to one student by NYWFT from nominees selected by the MFA faculty. Application Deadline: May

THE BERT SAPERSTEIN AWARD - For promising film/video makers, two Awards of $1000.00 given by the MFA Faculty in March. Application Deadline: N/A

THE JOSEPH P. VASQUEZ AWARD/NEW LINE CINEMA - For promising film/video makers, four Awards are given at the Cityvisons Festival. Application Deadline: N/A

THE SYDNEY MEYER AWARD - For promising film/video makers; a total of $1000.00 in awards distributed at Cityvisions Application Deadline: N/A

THE NATIONAL BOARD OF REVIEW FILM GRANT - Two $2,000 grants for promising thesis projects, one fiction, one documentary, selected by the NBR Board of Directors at the end of the first year of study from candidates nominated by the MFA Faculty.

PUBLIC MEDIA INC. SCHOLARSHIP - $4,000 for thesis projects that show creativity, clarity of idea and willingness to use fiction and documentary to tell stories that explore social and political issues. Directors are invited to apply in March of the second year. Final selections and number of awards are determined by the MFA faculty

The MFA Media Arts Production program does not offer teaching assistantships at this time.
