FORENSIC EXPERT MICHAEL M. BADEN TOPS CCNY CLASS OF ’55 GOLDEN REUNION
CCNY President Dr. Gregory H. Williams and Rhodes Scholar Lev Sviridov, co-Salutatorian of the Class of 2005, will also speak to the gathering. The reunion, two days after CCNY’s 159th Commencement Exercises, also features student musical and theatrical performances and a campus tour.
Dr. Baden, who was Senior Class President in 1955, went on to establish a reputation as perhaps the world’s most recognizable pathologist. He served as expert witness in numerous high-profile cases where celebrities were the victims or defendants.
Currently, he is the chief forensic pathologist for the New York State Police, and for many years was the Chief Medical Examiner of New York City. In addition, he hosts HBO’s “Autopsy” series. Dr. Baden, who received his M.D. from NYU School of Medicine, has written more than 80 professional articles and books and has taught homicide courses for police, legal and medical officials in all 50 states and numerous foreign countries.
During the 1970s, he served as Chairman of the Forensic Pathology Panel of the Congressional Select Committee on Assassinations that re-investigated the deaths of President John F. Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He also was the chief pathologist on a team of U.S. forensic scientists asked by the Russian government to examine the remains of Tsar Nicholas II and his family when they were found in the 1990s.
The CCNY Class of 1955 50th Anniversary Reunion is sponsored by the City College Fund. For more information, call Elena Sturman at (212) 650-6529.
