Crest Center At CCNY Hosts Gathering Of NOAA Cooperative Institutes
The NOAA-CREST Center, based at The City College of New York (CCNY), is hosting the sixth annual Cooperative Research Symposium for NESDIS Cooperative Institutes, Tuesday, August 18, and Wednesday, August 19. The two-day event brings together representatives from Cooperative Institutes and individual schools supported by NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite, Data & Information Service (NESDIS) to share recent research and highlight the work of graduate students and post-docs.

CCNY Appoints NYPD Veteran Steven Harris Director Of Security And Public Safety
NEW YORK, August 13, 2009 – Steven L. Harris, a 25-year veteran of the New York City Police Department (NYPD), has been appointed Director of Security and Public Safety for The City College of New York (CCNY). In addition, Douglas M. White, a member of the CCNY Office of Public Safety since 1992, has been promoted to Deputy Director from Lieutenant. The appointments, effective August 10, were announced by CCNY President Gregory H. Williams.

CCNY Hosts Northern Manhattan Photo Exhibit
City College’s Compton-Goethals Art Gallery will host “Economy,” an exhibition of 58 photographs by members of the Northern Manhattan Photography Group (NOMA Photo), Wednesday, July 8, through Wednesday, July 22. Exhibit hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays and 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Thursdays. The Compton-Goethals Art Gallery is located on Amsterdam Avenue between 139th and 140th Streets.
