  • CCNY Junior Claudio Simpkins Wins Truman Scholarship

    NEW YORK, March 29, 2005 – Claudio Simpkins, a junior at The City College of New York (CCNY) majoring in political science and philosophy, today was named a 2005 Truman Scholar by the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation.  The award carries a $30,000 scholarship to be applied toward graduate or professional studies.

  • CCNY ART ALUMNI GROUP HOSTS “DIVERSITY AND TRADITION” EXHIBIT, MARCH 31 – JUNE 20

    NEW YORK, March 30, 2005 – Noted artists and City College alumni William Behnken ’68 and Chakaia Booker ’93MFA will curate and judge “Diversity and Tradition,” CCNY’s second biennial exhibition of work by art alumni and current students.  The exhibition, in Aaron Davis Hall on The City College campus, opens Thursday, March 31, and runs through June 20. An opening day reception will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.   Public viewing hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. weekends.
