  • CCNY HOSTS 31 STUDENTS FROM KYUNG HEE UNIVERSITY FOR TRAINING IN BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS, RESEARCH WRITING

    NEW YORK, June 25, 2008 – Thirty-one undergraduate and graduate students from Kyung Hee University (KHU) in Seoul, South Korea, will spend four weeks at The City College of New York (CCNY) as participants in the first CCNY-KHU Collaborative Summer Program in Business English, Communications and Academic Research Writing.  The program runs July 7 through August 1.  A reception for the visiting students will be held at CCNY July 8.

    NEW YORK, June 9, 2008 – Dr. Jeffrey Blustein, a nationally recognized expert in the fields of bioethics and moral psychology, has been appointed the first Arthur Zitrin Professor of Bioethics in the Philosophy Department at The City College of New York (CCNY).   • PHYSICISTS AT CCNY DEVELOP TUNABLE LASER WITH BANDWIDTH SPANNING TWO WIDELY USED TELECOMMUNICATIONS WINDOWS

    NEW YORK, May 19, 2008 – A team of physicists in the Institute for Ultrafast Spectroscopy and Lasers (IUSL) of the Physics Department at The City College of New York (CCNY) have developed new near-infrared broadband laser materials with tunability ranges around triple those of earlier crystals.  The new crystals have a tunability range of as much as 460 nanometers (nm) and have potential application in such fields as telecommunications, biomedical imaging and remote sensing.
