Profile
Patterson Beckwith has a B.F.A.,The Cooper Union and an M.F.A. in Photography from the University of California Los Angeles. Patterson's editorial photography has appeared in Artforum, Index, Domino, Purple, and Vice. His photos are featured in Art at the Millennium (Taschen, 2000) and have been exhibited widely throughout North America and Europe. Exhibitions include Kerstin Engholm Galerie, Vienna, Austria, Pat Hearn Gallery, NY, Armand Hammer Museum, L.A. and Daniel Hug Gallery, Los Angeles. He was a member of Art Club 2000 which was founded in 1992 by Gallerist Colin De Land and students from NYC's Cooper Union. Their collaborative projects included muckraking investigations of systems and institutions including the Gap, Ikea, New York real estate, and Fashion. The group had a major retropsective exhibition at Museo Carillo Gil, Mexico City, in 2000, and an exhibition in November of 2007 in London at Between Bridges.
