Trisha Baboolal joined CWE as office manager in 2008. She has experience on both sides of the academic coin. By day, she serves at CWE's office manager and by night, she's working towards earning a Ph.D. in educational psychology at The Graduate Center of the City University of New York. "I enjoy being a part of the CWE family and working with the students, faculty and staff," said Baboolal, who migrated to the United States from Trinidad and now resides in Queens. "The atmosphere and setting of the Center makes this job a unique experience." Baboolal enjoys her close relations with the college assistant staff. "I feel very lucky to adopt a team that is so knowledgeable and responsible." Baboolal's decision to pursue her education in the States brought her to York College, where she earned a baccalaureate degree in psychology. Before joining CWE, she was employed as a research assistant with the Research Foundation working with a York College professor on her NIH (MBRS)-funded grant. She developed a great interest in research and has participated at many research conferences over the past years. Baboolal plans to apply this knowledge to her doctoral degree. Once she has her doctorate, she hopes to teach at CWE as an adjunct lecturer. "The assistance of the reception staff helped make my transition into this position a lot easier," she said. "Starting this new chapter in my life has been a wonderful experience. I want to thank all the staff and faculty for their warm welcome and encouragement. I look forward to many productive years at the Center."
