Research
Interests:
Psycholinguistics,
cognitive psychology, linguistics, neurolinguistics, & perception.
My
research interests are primarily within the area of psychlinguistics
including speech perception in normal and deafened individuals, sign
language perception, and figurative language understanding. I have
also
done work in literacy and education, and collaborative work with language-learning
impaired individuals and aphasics. I am currently working in two areas:
language change as affected by communication on the internet, and how
best to convey visuo-graphic information tactilely to permit the visually
impaired access to web demonstrations and graphics. I welcome research
collaborations in any area of language and communication.
