Diana Birchall

on

Onoto Watanna: “the first Asian American novelist (1875 – 1954), a flamboyant and fascinating figure whose character took her from poverty in Montreal to the high literary life in New York and included her posing as a Japanese, writing novels of the Canadian Prairies, and being an early woman screenwriter in Hollywood.”

Diana Birchall graduated from CCNY in 1970. She is currently a story analyst at Warner Bros., and author of two historical novels.
