      S.S.S.P offers a wide range of enrichment activities for its students. These include :

    Block Registration

    Students are encouraged to register in groups in specific courses. Entering freshmen register for SSSP freshman seminars.

    Conversational Circles

    Conversational Circles are held each week for students with spoken English language difficulties. Students discuss political and social issues in an informal atmosphere.

    Supplemental Instruction
    Available in ESL and select Liberal Arts courses

    Academic Support

    Workshops on Study Skills techniques, library research, computer literacy, note taking techniques are held each semester at the Academic Resources Center.

    Test Anxiety and Stress Management Workshops (Click here to find out more)
    These workshops are held early in the semester and are sponsored by the Wellness and Counseling Center.

     
    Career Exploration (Click here to find out more)
    Each year a Career Exploration workshop is held in October to introduce Student Support Services incoming and continuing students to senior faculty from the Divisions of the Humanities, Social Sciences, Education, Engineering, Sciences, Architecture and the Career Center. Students learn about the academic opportunities,  employment trends, research opportunities, and scholarships in their respective fields.  Departmental entrance criteria and interdisciplinary possibilities are also discussed. Students are encouraged to ask questions and make follow-up appointments to meet with the faculty.

     
    Financial Aid Workshops (Click here to find out more)

    Financial Aid Workshops are held in collaboration with the financial aid office. Students are informed of Federal (FAFSA) and state (TAP) financial packages, federal work-study information, and on-line web sites for scholarships and loans.

    Cultural Program (Click here to find out more)

    Students participate in a Cultural Program, in December, that enhances student awareness of the diverse backgrounds of the students. Students present works of art, poems and dances that reflect their cultural heritage.

    An annual award ceremony is held in May to honor students' academic achievements.
