Welcome to the CCNY Writing Center!The CCNY Writing Center offers one-on-one assistance for students working on writing assignments and projects from across the disciplines. You should visit us whenever you need someone to listen to your ideas, discuss your topics or assignments, and read your drafts. Writing consultants will work with you on planning, drafting, and revising -- all of the important steps in your writing process. The consultants at the CCNY Writing Center will make suggestions, not lecture or grade you. They will not judge your work, but will help you to judge it yourself. Consultants will encourage you and help you to understand your own writing. They will offer comments about your written text and composing process to assist you in making better “writerly” choices. Consultants will NOT correct or proofread your papers, but they WILL help you to find and correct your own errors. A tutor can’t “fix” your writing, but he or she can help you to become a better and more confident writer. We encourage you to visit us whenever you need help with a writing assignment in one of your classes. Director:
