Division of Science Scholarship Application 2019-2020

Eligible students must be majors in one of the departments in the Division of Science: Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Geology (EAS), Environmental Earth System Science (EESS), Mathematics, Physics ; must have completed 24 credits at CCNY, a cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher, and a Science/Math GPA 3.0 or higher.

A completed application consists of and must include a CCNY unofficial transcript and one letter of recommendation from a CCNY Faculty Member who is familiar with your accomplishments, abilities, and potential. Keep in mind that all sections of this application are taken into consideration in determining scholarship recipients.

With that objective in mind, please write (typewritten, double-spaced) an essay of 500 words (maximum 2 pages) on the following topic: Why did you choose to major in a science and what do you intend to achieve?

 

Please have your City College faculty sponsor email the Letter of Recommendation to nsantiagoarcher@ccny.cuny.edu before March 13th, 2020.

Forfeiture of Award:

  • Student does not enroll full-time in the semester in which the award is to be in effect.
  • Student is placed on academic and/or disciplinary probation.
  • Student does not meet satisfactory academic progress towards their degree.
  • Student no longer meets the scholarship qualifications or does not fulfill the recipient responsibilities.
