Conversations in Leadership featuring

HARRY LAROSILIERE, MAYOR OF PLANO, TEXAS

Harry LaRosiliere’s story is a story of humble beginnings. It is a story of coming to America at a young age. It is a story of growing up in a family that struggled but showed an unwavering commitment to the American dream of education and upward mobility. It is a story of a young man’s discovery of his abilities as an entrepreneur.  And, ultimately, it is the story of discovering a passion for public service and giving back to the community.

Come hear Mayor LaRosiliere tell the story that led from his birth in Haiti to a childhood in Harlem, his education at The City College of New York (where he was awarded a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Geology), and that eventually led him to leave New York and embark on a dual career as a financial advisor and politician. Mr. LaRosiliere will speak about his experiences as mayor of Plano, a city of 270,000 people, and about the challenges he has faced, including the issues of immigration, taxation, transportation, and housing.  He will remark on his visions for the future of America and on the importance of civic involvement for every member of the community.

We hope you will join us for what should prove to be an engaging discussion on the secrets of personal growth and success and of issues of importance to our community, with a CCNY graduate who has gone far but never forgotten where he came from.
