Born in the Southern Urals region of Russia, Anton Pavlov moved to the United States at the age of 21. He is interested in the mutual relationship between the social environment and the structure of meaning that individuals manifest via language. By studying the socio-cultural theory of the prominent Soviet psychologist Lev Vygotskye, Anton has examined the way in which the lexicon of particular social groups have an impact on the conceptual understanding of the external reality. He plans to pursue doctoral research to contribute to the study of the mutual relations of language, meaning, consciousness and to enhance the interest and the understanding of these matters among students.
