National search leads CCNY to Jervette R. Ward as Black Studies program director

The City College of New York has appointed Dr. Jervette R. Ward director of the Black Studies Program in the Division of Humanities and the Arts. After a national search, Dean Renata Kobetts Miller said, "As President of CLA ( College Language Association), Jervette comes to City College as a leader in the profession. We're thrilled to have her directing City College's historic Black Studies Program, and we're looking forward to some exciting developments in the months and years ahead." Hybridization occurs when two species cross breed to successfully make offspring. Understanding global patterns of species genetic diversity is an integral part of monitoring and preserving life on Earth. To date, however, scientists have mapped macrogenetic patterns in vertebrates exclusively. Macrogenetics uses publicly-available data to identify global drivers of genetic diversity.
