Description:

Professor Del Tredici is a Pulitzer-Prize-winning composer whose works have been commissioned, performed and recorded by nearly every major American and European orchestral ensemble including the New York Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, St. Louis Symphony, Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and Helsinki Festival Orchestra. Although trained in serial techniques, he is now recognized as America’s foremost exponent of the return to musical Romanticism. He has received Guggenheim and Woodrow Wilson Fellowships, the Brandeis and Friedheim Awards, NEA grants, and no fewer than 23 ASCAP Awards – one every year since 1969. He was elected to The American Academy of Arts and Letters and sits on the Boards of Directors of Yaddo, the MacDowell Colony, and the Aaron Copland Fund for Music.
