My doctorate is in Cognitive Psychology and since graduate school the focus has been on applying it to improve thinking, learning and instruction.
I have a joint appointment at the CUNY Graduate Center in the Educational Psychology Doctoral Program.
After working at Montclair State University, Rockland Community College and the Newark Board of Education, I came to CCNY in 1986. Titles included: Director of Tutor Training, Director of the CCNY Tutoring and Cooperative Learning Program, Chair of Secondary Education, Program Head - Social and Psychological Foundations, and Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
My areas of specialization are improving thinking and learning, teaching strategies and instructional technology.
