Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration

Jerald (Jerry) Posman, joined City College as the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration in 2011 from York College, where he served for six and a half years as Senior Vice President for Administration Affairs and helped lead the College through a challenging transition.  He received his undergraduate degree in English Literature from CCNY and MBA from the Harvard Business School, Harvard University.

Mr. Posman has lived and worked overseas, including five years in the Peace Corps as a volunteer teacher in Tunisia and as a staff member in Sri Lanka.  He has been in charge of vast operations as Deputy Chancellor of the New York City School System and in the most shoestring entrepreneurial ventures.   His long history at City University dates back to the 1970's, when he served as CUNY's Vice Chancellor for Budget and Finance during an extremely challenging period.

Mr. Posman has founded and run several successful businesses.  He has helped develop entrepreneurial opportunities and support structures for populations in New York City that would not otherwise have been involved in small business.  He is a Board member of Project Enterprise, a micro enterprise organization developed on the Grameen Bank model developed by Nobel Laureate Muhammed Yunis.

Jerry's expertise of systems and processes is well known within the University and he brings a friendly and collaborative management style that has proven to be a tremendous asset to the College.
