Just outside the north campus gate is the modern Steinman Hall. This building, which underwent a $65 million renovation in recent years, is named after David B. Steinman (Class of 1906), one of the world's greatest bridge builders.
Steinman houses CCNY's Grove School of Engineering, named after one of America's most renown engineers, Andrew Grove (Class of 1960), Co-founder and former Chairman of Intel Corp, and Time Magazine’s 1999 “Man of the Year.” The Grove School is the only public school of engineering in New York City, and has seven departments: biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical and mechanical engineering, and computer science. All offer bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees.
