Not all directors, screenwriters, filmmakers, teachers, bloggers, and photojournalists have learned the art of storytelling and know how to tell a story visually even though their final product is built around and upon images. They have not learned and polished the skills of the Visual Storyteller. We offer this unique training for individuals who want to learn to make movies. Seek employment in broadcasting and other media, as well as those creating blogs and entrepreneurial use of the new technology. You will create vivid stories with digital images on your home PC of Mac. The skills learned translate readily into film and video projects.
The Storytelling class will teach you to create, design, and produce stories using digital media to research, and write scripts. You will also learn storyboarding and shooting still and moving images with sound on a digital camera. You will edit on your home computer using narration, music, sound effects and titles to create compelling stories.
You will need the following for the course:
- Digital camera with accessories to save images (camera phone not suitable)
- PC or MAC home computer, or access of the CCNY computer lab
- Skype (free product)
- USB Microphone
- Screen the film 'La Jetee' before course begins.
