·          conduct Advising meetings with you to monitor your progress and authorize your course selections

·          advise you on academic policies

·          discuss internship/co-op opportunities

·          refer you to department faculty for in-depth questions about the major and the profession

·          offer short-term counseling on the transition to college, financial and employment challenges, and on academic issues like study skills, test-taking, and stress management.

For all Engineering students OSD also works with each department:

·          to facilitate co-op and internship opportunities

Your Financial Aid Award: For updates on your award, please contact:

the Financial Aid Office, 1st Fl. Administration, Ext. 5819/6656

Your Bill/Payment Due: Your bill needs validating with a Bursar’s stamp even if your total is “0”, at the Registrar’s site On Line or in person at the Bursar’s Office, A103. Without validation your classes will be dropped. The Bottom Right of your bill shows the due date for payment, your award amount, and the cost of your tuition and fees. Check your bill to ensure the classes/times listed are correct. If not, visit OSD, Steinman Hall, Room 2M7.

Eligibility for scholarships and other possible aid: OSD, Room T-2M7, Ext. 8040.

Accommodations: Contact Office of Student Disability Services, Baskerville, Room 26.

First Classes: Look for Notices on the blackboard or door to learn if your classroom has been moved or instructor has changed, or the class has been postponed that day due to instructor’s absence. Don’t assume the class was cancelled. If you can’t find a class, check with the Department’s Administrative Assistant (see List).

Attendance in Courses:  Attend all classes whether or not attendance is taken. If you withdraw, you need to get a “Withdrawal Form” approved at OSD (T-2M7) after you have obtained the necessary signature (instructor). Withdrawing after the stated “W” deadline date (see attached Spring 2007 calendar) without authorization will result in a “WU” grade which is equivalent to an “F”.

Classroom Assignment: Use your Campus Map.

Books: Know what is required and purchase books before the first class.

Changing your schedule: Visit OSD in Steinman Hall, T-2M7.

Grading Policies: Can be found in the College Bulletin, and on CDs available in 2M7.
