CCNY TO CONFER HONORARY DOCTORATE ON DR. ROBERT J. AUMANN, ’50, WINNER OF 2005 NOBEL PRIZE IN ECONOMICS
NEW YORK, April 10, 2006 – The City College of New York (CCNY) will confer an Honorary Doctorate in Science upon Dr. Robert J. Aumann, ’50, co-winner of the 2005 Nobel Prize in Economics, in a ceremony 12 noon Monday, April 24, in The Great Hall of Shepard Hall. Dr. Aumann, the ninth CCNY graduate to win a Nobel Prize, will deliver a lecture on “Game Engineering” as part of the event.

TWO CCNY SCIENCE PROFESSORS RECEIVE NSF CAREER GRANTS
NEW YORK, April 10, 2006 – Two science faculty members at The City College of New York (CCNY), Assistant Professor of Chemistry Iban Ubarretxena-Belandia and Assistant Professor of Physics Carlos A. CCNY ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS CHAPTER TO DESIGN WATER DISTRIBUTION, TREATMENT SYSTEM FOR HONDURAN VILLAGE

CCNY RECEIVES $500G NOAA GRANT TO INCREASE UNDERREPRESENTED MINORITY PARTICPATION IN SCIENCES
NEW YORK, April 5, 2006 -- The City College of New York (CCNY) has received a $499,314 grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to introduce undergraduate students to applied research applications. The grant, one of five awarded by the federal agency for an “Environmental Demonstration Project,” is part of an initiative to develop and enhance educational opportunities at minority-serving institutions.

FROM TRIBECA TO THE FINANCIAL DISTRICT
