CCNY Alumni Present Service Awards June 12

CCNY Architecture Professor Christian Volkmann will receive the Faculty Service Award from the college's Alumni Association June 12.

Architecture Professor Christian Volkmann to receive Faculty Service Award; Humanities Administrator Yana Joseph to get Administrative Staff Service Award

Christian Volkmann, associate professor in The Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture, will receive the Faculty Service Award from the Alumni Association of The City College of New York. The Association's Administrative Staff Service Award will go to Yana Joseph, administrative manager in City College's Division of Humanities and the Arts.  
 
Professor Volkmann and Ms. Joseph top the list of honorees at the Alumni Association's 162nd annual meeting 7 p.m. Thursday, June 12, in The Great Hall, Shepard Hall, at City College.

The program includes service award presentations to alumni:
  • Gary Calnek '67, 2nd VP Alumni Association
  • Jack J. Cinque '51, Greater Houston Chapter
  • Samuel N. Jenkins '53, Black Alumni Group
  • Nelda Latham '68, Alumni Varsity Association
  • Denisse Olivarez '08, Business and Economics Alumni Society
In addition, City College President Lisa S. Coico will give highlights of the 2013 – 2014 academic year. And in keeping with the theme of the annual meeting this year, "Celebrating the Colin Powell School of Civic and Global Leadership," its Dean, Vincent Boudreau, and a group of students will talk about the school.

A buffet dinner at 6 p.m. precedes the meeting. Tickets are $40 per person and can be ordered through the Alumni Association at 212-234-3000. The meeting is free and open to the public.
