  • Profile

    Dr. Blutreich is Clinical Professor of Pathology and the Course Director for the Pathology Course for the Sophie Davis Medical School. Previously, she was a Pathologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Dr. Blutreich completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology followed by two fellowships; one fellowship in Surgical Pathology with subspecialization in Breast and Urologic Pathology and a second fellowship in Transfusion Medicine. She has experience signing out anatomic pathology cases, teaching residents and medical students, participating in quality assurance activities, and conducting tumor board conferences.

    Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, New York
    Research Coordinator for New York Children's Environmental Health Study. This cohort study investigated the effects of lead, PCB's and roach pesticides on children's health and development.The study also investigated genetic polymorphisms that could lead to increased susceptibility to toxicity from roach pesticides. Exposures and outomces were evaluated via comprehensive exposure questionnaires, testing of biological samples (blood, urine, and cord blood), performing IQ tests on participants, perfroming Brazelton Neonatal Assessment Test and the Bayley Test of Infant Development on the newborns and infants and  conducting follow-up home visits.

    10/2009 "Assessing Deficiencies In Knowledge Of Blood Banking Among Housestaff and Attendings." Created a blood bank test and administered it to 101 housestaff and attendings in four departments at NYU Medical Center. Purpose was to identify gaps in medical knowledge in order to decrease patient care errors.
