Payment Arrangements

  • You must apply for federal and New York State financial aid each academic year.
    • Eligibility for aid is based on federal and state formulas that assess "need"
  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the gateway to:

          (Apply online at https://fafsa.ed.gov)

    • Grants- money you don't have to pay back
    • Work Study-need based employment opportunities
    • Loans-monies that must be repaid, offered at low interest rate
    • New York State grants (TAP) and scholarships (Excelsior)

           * New York State (NYS) residents attending NYS schools can link directly to the Tuition Assistance Program       

            (TAP) application from the FAFSA submission confirmation page.

  • New York State Higher Education Service Corporation:
  • Student Loans
    • Low interest-government loans must be repaid, but used judiciously can help. Federal Direct Loans originate with the FAFSA.
    • First time borrowers need to also complete entrance counseling, that can be accessed by visiting www.StudentLoans.gov.

         You can divide your tuition cost into monthly installments. To enroll:

    • Log into CUNYfirst. Got to HR Campus solutions, then select Self-Service and go to your Student Center.
    • Go to Finances and select Enroll/Manage Payment Plan.
  • FAFSA

  • IMPORTANT NOTE: When you accept financial aid you are entering into an agreement, where you agree to make satisfactory academic progress (sap). When you fail to make sap, there are potential immediate and long term consequences.
