About City College

City College of New York

Since 1847, The City College of New York (CCNY) has provided low-cost, high-quality education for New Yorkers in a wide variety of disciplines. Over 16,000 students pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; The Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture; The School of Education; The Grove School of Engineering, and The Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education.

The College's 36-acre campus, situated in northern Manhattan, features some of the earliest and most beautiful Gothic architecture of any U.S. college or university. The Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture moved into a new home, designed by Rafael Viñoly, at the start of the fall 2009 semester. In addition, CUNY has recently established a multi-building science research complex on the College's south campus.
