ABSTRACT

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are transcripts that are longer than 500 nucleotides and do not encode for protein. Despite their low abundance levels in cells and limited primary sequence conservation across divergent species, lncRNAs have critical regulatory roles in numerous biological processes. In this talk, I will discuss our implementation of experimental and bioinformatic approaches to investigate how lncRNAs function through their i) primary sequences, ii) 2D and 3D structures, and iii) interactions with proteins to regulate gene expression.
