JENNIFER BOWLES: Empowering Your Creativity and Innovation Innovation and creativity play a crucial role in the rapidly changing world of the 21st Century. Creativity, believed to be a magical gift for a select group of artists and musicians, is a mindset which can be cultivated and developed. This lecture will be of particular interest to students who are working in specific project development and those who are interested in accessing their creativity. Jennifer Bowles is currently working towards an MFA at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. In her STEM masters program, Designer as Entrepreneur, Jennifer’s thesis research falls under the umbrella of creativity and innovation. Jennifer has an MA from New York University, she studied fine art at Instituto Lorenzo de Medici in Florence, Italy, and she has years of experience working as a graphic designer and art director for leading publishing companies in New York City. Jennifer started teaching at CCNY as an adjunct in 2006. Most recently, Jennifer has been remote teaching graphic design and typography at Bradley University and The City College of New York. Her life-long interest in design and photography began when she was a young girl with the gift of an antique Ricoh ex camera. The simple twin-lens was small—but magical—and with it she captured images that were her first foray into the world of visual communications.
