WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN A FRESHMAN APPLICANT?
We are seeking students who will thrive at City both academically and personally while contributing to the community inside and outside of the classroom. Candidates will be considered on the basis of overall strength of academic preparation, grades in individual subjects, and overall high school average. Applicants who have taken the General Equivalency Diploma (GED) examination must submit test scores and can be eligible provided they have attained a score of at least 3250 or higher.
When and How to Apply
General Deadlines:
- Fall – Feb 1
- Spring – September 15
Applications that are mailed or submitted electronically after the deadline will be considered on a space available basis only.
Transfer Evaluation Services evaluates advanced placement (A.P.) and international baccalaureate (I.B.), A Level examination scores and College Now. Please submit official transcript for College Now to the Office of Admissions Evaluation Services. You should arrange to have official score reports of A.P. examinations forwarded to the Office of Admissions directly from the College Board.
You may bring your original official A.P., I.B. or A Level examination scores to Evaluation Services in the Office of Admissions. City College does not grant credit for the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). Students may receive up to 32 credits through A.P., IB or A Level examinations; equivalences vary by department. Please see the guidelines.
