Each year when you apply for financial aid, you have a chance of being selected for a process called verification. This process is required by the U.S. Department of Education in an effort to ensure the accuracy of financial aid applications. Students that have been selected in the past have had to collect specific forms and tax documents and submit them to your campus Financial Aid Office in person, via fax or by mail – but now, students can easily complete their forms and upload their documents online from their phone, tablet, or computer!
New Platform for gathering financial aid documents
ProVerifier+ (Starting 2026-2027 Academic Year)
What is ProVerifier+?
Beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year ProVerifier+ will be CUNY’s new student portal that allows students to electronically sign and upload documents! This means that you can submit your financial aid documents securely without having to come into the campus Financial Aid Office. As the students and the college financial aid staff work through the forms, the ProEd software will send updates in real time with documentation that is needed based on the answers provided by the students. Once you have submitted all your forms to resolve outstanding financial aid tasks, the integration with our other CUNY applications will update CUNYfirst in real time.
