Rosemari Mealy- Ph.D. Capella University, Juris Doctorate, The City University of New York School of Law, MA Rutgers, the State Univ., N.J. BA Antioch University. Professor Mealy has taught as an adjunct at several CUNY Schools. She first came to CWE as an adjunct in 1989. Over the years she has taught numerous courses including: The Color Line, Gender and Globalization, Immigrant Rights and the Law, Labor History, Women and Labor Studies, Women and International Liberation Movements and Seminar in Labor Studies. Publications include: Fidel and Malcolm X-Memories of A Meeting (Black Classic Press, 2014). Activism and Disciplinary Suspensions/ Expulsions At Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs): A Phenomenological Study of the Black Student Sit-In Movement, 1960-1962 (Mellen Press, 2013). Lift These Shadows From Our Eyes (West End Press, 1978-79). Black Women Writers, editor, Sunbury An Annual Literary Review, Issue 10 (Sunbury Press Books, 1981). Other published works include ( list incomplete): Black Women In The Diaspora, Vol. I-II, Ed. C Boyce Davies (NYU Press, 1995). University of Massachusetts Black Studies Journal, Black Film Review Magazine, Confirmations, An Anthology of African American Women Writers, Ed. by Amiri and Amina Baraka, Quill- William Morrow and Journal of the Black Scholar. In 2006, she received the CWE Teacher of The Year Award. Her community involvement has garnered numerous awards and recognitions. In 2000-01, Dr. Mealy was the recipient of the prestigious Claudia Jones Fellow in the African New World Studies Program at Florida International University (Miami), where she taught Critical Race Theory Analysis.
