Ebony C. Pulley, Director, Accelerated Study in Academic Programs (ASAP)

Ebony C. Pulley serves as the Director of Accelerated Study in Academic Programs (ASAP). With more than 10 years of experience in higher education, she is passionate about helping students achieve their academic and personal goals. She believes that education has the power to transform lives and is committed to expanding access, promoting educational equity, and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Ebony believes that student success begins with building meaningful relationships, delivering exceptional service, and fostering an environment where students feel supported from enrollment through graduation. She is dedicated to helping students overcome barriers and celebrates their achievements, recognizing these successes as the most rewarding aspect of her work.

Jabari Bernard, ASAP Academic Advisor

Jabari Bernard is an academic advisor and higher education professional dedicated to supporting student success and development. As a graduate of the College Discovery (CD)/SEEK program, he brings a personal understanding of the transformative impact of student support programs and equitable access to higher education. He began his educational journey at Borough of Manhattan Community College before earning his bachelor's degree from Hunter College and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Education in Higher Education Administration at Baruch College. His diverse educational background informs his approach to advising, which is grounded in a proactive, holistic, and student-centered philosophy. Drawing on Social Cognitive Theory, Jabari supports students in building self-efficacy, navigating challenges, and achieving their academic and professional goals.

Aldonsa Tejada, ASAP Academic Advisor
 

Aldonsa Tejada is an academic advisor with the Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) at The City College of New York, where she has spent more than 10 years helping students navigate their academic journey. Passionate about building meaningful connections, Aldonsa enjoys working one-on-one with students to create academic plans, overcome challenges, and connect them with the resources they need to succeed. Drawing on a background in psychology and years of advising experience, Aldonsa believes every student has the potential to thrive with the right support and encouragement. She is committed to empowering students to build confidence, achieve their academic goals, and prepare for successful careers.

Walter Arzu, ASAP Administrative Coordinator

A Bronx native, Walter Arzu has more than 10 years of experience in higher education, nonprofit organizations, and public service, with a passion for advancing student success, educational equity, and community engagement. He holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The City College of New York and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sustainability in the Urban Environment.

Walter's professional interests center on sustainability, environmental justice, climate resilience, and the use of data-driven approaches to improve public services and student outcomes. He is also the founder of the Garifuna Support Network (GSN), an initiative dedicated to addressing environmental and social challenges facing Garifuna communities in Honduras. Through his work in higher education and community advocacy, he is committed to creating opportunities that empower individuals and strengthen communities.
