6 Month Full Stack Web Development Certificate

Course Description

In this course, you will gain the foundational knowledge needed to create a full stack (browser side & server side) application/website. Through this knowledge, you can start your path to a career in web development. You will be taught the fundamentals that can help you pass a technical interview and gain employment as a Full Stack Web Developer. By the end of this course, you will be able to build your own Social Network type Website, or build your Portfolio Website, or your own Content Website, or whatever your passion might be (you can build a site for it!).

By the end of this course you will be comfortable coding in HTML, CSS, and Javascript files to the Web. You will have a foundational knowledge of website creation and apply it to the planning, design and development of your own web pages.

The first part of the course will focus on HTML & CSS, with a focus on basic knowledge and proper formatting and responsiveness of web pages.

The second part of the course will focus on how Javascript integrates with HTML & CSS on the browser side. This will go from the basics of Javascript through learning how to write the Javascript logic to build a properly functioning webpage.

The third part of the course will focus on writing Javascript from the server side. This will involve how to integrate with a database, how to write your own api, and finally how the Browser Side (HTML, CSS & Front End Javascript) integrates with the Server Side Javascript code.

Along with the previous material, students will also learn the basics of the command line, the basics of github (code collaboration website), and how to properly host your website on the internet.

All of the material that is taught in this class is necessary in order for the student to understand the full web development stack, and is also essential for technical employment and preparing students with the necessary knowledge to be a proficient web developer in the field.

Critical thinking will be required as part of this class. 8-12 hours of coding and studying per week outside of class is necessary in order to learn the material and keep up with the pace of the class.
