Accreditation and Credentials

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Administrative Probation status for The CUNY  School of Medicine PA Program.  "Accreditation-Administrative Probation" is a temporary status granted when a program has not complied with an administrative requirement, such as failure to pay fees or submit required reports.  Once placed on Administrative Probation, a program that fails to comply with administrative requirements in a timely manner as specified by the ARC-PA may be scheduled for a focused site visit and/or risk having its accreditation withdrawn.

The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be September 1-3, 2024.  The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.

The Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies is conferred when the Physician Assistant Program requirements are fulfilled, including successful completion of all major discipline requirements.

Certification: Upon completion of all P.A. Program and CCNY degree requirements, the graduate is permitted to sit for the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants examination.
