The Educational Program at the CUNY School of Medicine / Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program is designed as an integrated curriculum in medical studies. During the first three years of the Program, students fulfill all requirements for the B.S. degree in Biomedical Science. After receiving the B.S. degree,
students will be eligible for admission to the M.D. portion of the Program, upon completion of which they will be granted the M.D.degree. The City College of New York confers the B.S. and the M.D. degrees.Sophie Davis students have been carefully selected for their ability to meet the demands of this challenging program. They are expected to satisfy not only the academic requirements of the CUNY School of Medicine / Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program, but also the additional requirements of the City College of New York. These requirements are designed to ensure that students receive the broad-based education that will prepare them to meet the constantly changing demands of the medical profession in accordance with the highest ethical standards and the goals of the CUNY School of Medicine / Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program.
